It’s bleak, it’s dark, macabre and It stinks. Dogs are hovering the rubbles like wolves in search of fresh meat. It’s a little too late now all that meat is gone by now… It’s been almost six months and that place is still halfway in the street and became part of the landscape, unfortunately some got use to it. after the jump →

Spent a little time in Fontamara 27 trying to find a woman and her two kids with a team of CBC reporters, and I stumble upon these guys singing their sorrow away. Turns out one of them was in charge of the tent city we were at. Mckentosh was his name. In this short clip he’s singing and talking about Raymond; the guy with the fabric tied to his head, he’s saying that many people lost their mind after the earthquake just like Raymond. I’ve been in many slums and many tent cities since day one. And I’ve always been impressed on how people quickly managed to go on with their lives. At the Ste Therèse Parc in Pétion-Ville I was amazed by how clean it was and how they had separated the camp in different sectors and assigned people in charge to make sure that it’s always clean. click for more after the jump →

With my new baby that made it before christmas, I have been spending a lot of time in the dark trying to find very few lights. To my surprise the National palace was nicely decorated this year. So for new year’s eve, I went down there to photograph it and get some footage around the palace before midnight. Went down there with a tripod and sat around for a while and watched people walk by lost in their own stories. watch the video and pictures after the jump →

Santa drop by this year and left me a golden box
I made, a little video out of 333 frames, shot in studio on a tripod with my old D300. I started working with it, and the results are stunning. That camera is a real upgrade. ISO 12800 is better looking the ISO 1600 on the D300, so basically I don’t really need light to shoot anymore. I will update with pictures and video’s soon. yes videos, it does videos too, with total manual control.
